College Internship Opportunities

The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public, patients, medical/research communities, the media and policymakers. CISCRP believes that there is a need for general education about the clinical research process including the risks, benefits and rights of participants. Surveys have shown that even though 94% of the public recognizes that participation in clinical research is very important to advance medical science, 74% say they have no knowledge about it and 98% do not know where or how to evaluate appropriate clinical studies for patients diagnosed with cancer and other chronic diseases. Of special concern is the lack of participation of underserved and minority populations in medical research.

CISCRP's key initiatives include a groundbreaking public service campaign which is transforming the image of the clinical research participant from "guinea pig" to Medical Hero using TV, radio and print media. CISCRP maintains an online store of educational materials including brochures, DVDs, posters and books. In addition, CISCRP hosts "AWARE for All-Clinical Research Education Days" in various cities across the country.
